1. What is Etherayan?

Ans. Etherayan is a private firm which provides services in the fields of Astronomy and Space Sciences.

2. What are the services of Etherayan?

Ans. We provide the following services – star night camping, meteor shower camping, telescope making workshops, rocket making workshops, mobile tent planetarium shows, career guidance seminars in astronomy and space sciences, astronomy activities – fun games, quizzes, debates, lectures on special topics(both public level and detailed scientific level). Some of these services are also available on add-on basis.

3. Where is Etherayan located?

Ans. Etherayan is based in Bavdhan, Pune city.

4. Can the services be customized?

Ans. Yes, the services can be customized over and above a base package as per the customer requirements, call us to discuss. We have two base packages – Educational and General.

5. What does an educational base package include?

Ans. A base package is categorized under our Astronomy Activities Service. It contains a small lecture related any topic in astronomy and space sciences, a fun n learn game, a quiz, an hour of small star night with telescope handling training.

6. We want to avail Etherayan Services outside of Pune, can it be arranged?

Ans. Our primary service area is limited to Pune city, but a service location outside Pune can be discussed based on the service required and location distance from Pune.

7. Does Etherayan provide services to customers other than educational institutes?

Ans. Yes, absolutely! Etherayan provides services to all age groups and for general public as well.

8. Do you provide services for special family events, corporate events, society events?

Ans. Yes. You can book our General base package to insert an astronomy or space themed session or activity in your predesigned or pre-arranged event. Our General base package contains two fun n learn games in-line with event occasion, a small star night.

9. What is stargazing camping service?

Ans. We provide stargazing service for all age groups. Stargazing is about watching the night sky with naked eyes and through a range of telescopes. You can watch planets of solar system, their moons, distant stars, galaxies, nebulas, star clusters, hydrogen clouds etc deep space objects via modern optical instruments and telescopes. It is an overnight activity conducted at a secure location nearby city area. We provide sky watching sessions, trainings, fun games, food, tent stay and optional travel in this service. Charges vary as per location.

10. What is meteor shower star night camping service?

Ans. It is the same as the stargazing camping service with an additional astronomical event which occurs naturally on special calendar dates. We cover the following shower dates-

Lyrid Meteor Shower - 24-25 April

Leonid Meteor Shower - 17-18 November

Geminid Meteor Shower - 12-13 December

11. What are Etherayan’s stargazing camping sites?

Ans. We camp near Pune city, near Rajgad, Velhe, Bhimashankar at pre-designated resort locations.

12. What are the stargazing camping charges?

Ans. The charges are available on event page of our website. We offer special discounts for educational institutes

13. What are the workshop services?

Ans. We provide optical and radio telescope making, model rocket making workshop services at the customer’s premises.

14. What is the planetarium service?

Ans. The planetarium service includes live/pre-designed astronomy and space related shows. We provide an inflatable mobile tent planetarium at your location within Pune city, on rent. A typical AV show lasts for 30 minutes. For example shows – information about - solar system, deep space objects, ISS, black holes etc. A portable projector is used to project the AV file on the interior of the tent treated as a screen which creates a night sky feeling overhead.

15. What is the career guidance service?

Ans. We provide career guidance seminars in both academic and industry set ups. We discuss courses, programmes, degrees, entrances offered by various institutes in India and abroad in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, space sciences and related fields as well. The career options and related skill set discussion is also encompassed in the seminars. You can book our seminar, both in online and offline forms. In online form, we will deliver the seminar via MS teams and in offline form, we will deliver the seminar at you location within your premises.

16. Do you organize activities for special astronomy events like eclipses, transits, solar spots etc?

Ans. Yes. We love to cover such events with the appropriate set up required to witness them at the customer’s location. Charges may vary from event to event.

17. Who is team Etherayan?

Ans. Team Etherayan is handful of astronomy and space enthusiasts from diverse domains based in Pune. Engineers, science graduates, academic/industry professionals, service - based experts. Our experience in all of our services date backs for more than two decades. We have created 100s of telescopes small(50mm) to large(300mm) so far with different makes and models for schools, colleges and general public. Organized several star nights and meteor shower observations in and around Pune city. Delivered layman and deep scientific lectures at various educational institutes in and around Pune city. 18. Are there any safety measures pertaining to all of your services?

Ans. Yes. Of course, every service is chalked out with top most priority to the safety measures for it. These are either listed in the T&C/Policy/Feature section of the respective event or will be stated for any newly added or booked event to the customer. Besides there are standard protocols and safety measures to be followed by each participant and inviting organization or person delineated under the corresponding event section either as T&C/Policy/Feature.
